Install Backup Generator

DVC installed a new backup generator and switchgear for Huntington VA Medical Center's main hospital building. The project required careful and proactive coordination with the generator manufacturer, mechanical subcontractor, and electrical subcontractor. DVC installed the concrete pad for the generator, duct bank for the conduit, security fencing, and other site structures to support the generator system and safety equipment. Shutdowns and equipment deliveries were always coordinated with the VA for times when operation would not be affected.

Liberty Main Repair

Location:                    Clarksburg, WV

DVC demolished and replaced the existing liberty water main that runs across the West Fork River. Since work was being done on a bridge over the river, DVC had to have a safety boat staged while work was in progress. DVC tied in the water main to the existing and examined the pipe further up the line for leaks.

Repair Water Heaters

DVC demolished existing steam/water pipe to reinstall new water heaters and steam/water piping in the engine storage room. DVC installed new recirculating pumps and rerouted water piping. All new waters were tied into the electrical wiring for the building.

Laboratory HVAC Repair

Date:                           December, 2019

Location:                    Clarksburg, WV

DVC switched the power supply from normal to emergency power for the AHU supply and exhaust fan. DVC also removed and replaced the existing air diffusers to incorporate HEPA filters. This project required new programming and coordination with the hospital so that the work could occur without disruption to the hospital.

Clarksburg AHU Repair and Add Redundancy

Location:                    Clarksburg, WV

DVC installed a new rooftop air handling unit, service vestibule, and energy recovery exhaust unit. All work was completed with no disruption to VA operations. Shutdowns to tie-in equipment were coordinated ahead of time and always on the weekend or during off-hours. DVC connected all ductwork, controls, valves, and piping to the new unit and reroofed areas around the new mechanical equipment.
